Full-time and Adjunct Positions


The Department of Computer Science at Hofstra University seeks to
hire several full-time faculty members at the Assistant or
Associate Professor level. Visiting positions are also
available. Candidates should have a PhD in computer science or a
related field. For non-CS degrees, candidates must have
CS-related teaching or research experience. Instructor and
adjunct positions are also available, requiring a master's degree
in CS or a related field.

The CS department at Hofstra is committed to a blend of
peer-recognized research and high quality teaching. We seek
individuals with a passion for teaching and a clear research
program. Members of our department are currently active in
computer vision, decision making under uncertainty, computational
algebra, software testing, expert systems, and
machine learning, as well as in computer science education.
Department facilities include a Sun Ultra10-based classroom/lab
for majors, with comparable machines for faculty, and a PC-based
multimedia classroom/lab for non-majors. Networked facilities
include multimedia classroom/labs, PCs, Macs and workstations.

Hofstra University is a private institution on Long Island, with
over 12,000 students and over 970 faculty. The University is
located 25 miles east of Manhattan with easy access by train and
